Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“the User”) and London Finance Academy (“LFA”, “we”, “our”, “us”) governing your use of this Website and participation in any courses, training programmes, or related services provided by LFA.

By accessing or using this Website, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be legally bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must discontinue use of the Website immediately.

1. Definitions and Interpretation

1.1 In these Terms, the following expressions shall have the meanings set out below:

  • “Website” means the website owned and operated by LFA, including any sub-domains.

  • “User” means any individual accessing the Website who is not:
    (a) an employee of LFA acting in the course of their employment, or
    (b) a consultant or contractor engaged by LFA and accessing the Website in connection with the provision of services.

  • “Content” means any text, graphics, images, video, audio, software, data compilations, page layout, code, or other material capable of being stored in a computer that appears on or forms part of the Website, including material uploaded by Users.

1.2 By using the Website, you represent and warrant that you are at least eighteen (18) years of age and legally capable of entering into binding contracts.

2. Intellectual Property Rights

2.1 All Content on the Website is the exclusive property of LFA, its affiliates, or relevant third-party licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, database rights, and other intellectual property laws.

2.2 Nothing on the Website shall be construed as granting, by implication, estoppel, or otherwise, any licence or right to use any trademark, logo, or service mark without the prior written consent of LFA or the respective rights holder.

2.3 Users may:
(a) retrieve, display, and view Content on a computer or device for personal, non-commercial purposes;
(b) print one (1) copy for personal reference.

2.4 Users shall not otherwise reproduce, distribute, modify, copy, transmit, or exploit Content for commercial purposes without LFA’s prior written consent.

3. Prohibited Use

3.1 Users shall not use the Website:
(a) in any manner that damages, disables, or impairs the Website or interferes with another person’s lawful use;
(b) for any unlawful, harmful, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable activity;
(c) to upload, transmit, or store unauthorised copies of copyright-protected material.

4. Registration and Account Management

4.1 Users must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
4.2 Users must promptly update their information in the event of any changes.
4.3 LFA reserves the right to suspend or cancel any registration where there is a breach of these Terms or for any other reasonable cause.
4.4 Users may cancel their registration by written notice to LFA and must immediately cease use of the Website thereafter.
4.5 Use of the Website is subject to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference.

5. Data Protection and Privacy (UK GDPR Compliance)

5.1 Data Collection: LFA collects and processes personal data for course registration, participation, payment processing, and Website usage.

5.2 Legal Basis: Data is processed under Article 6 UK GDPR, including contract performance, legal obligations, and legitimate interests.

5.3 Use of Data: Personal data is used exclusively for:
(a) course administration and delivery,
(b) invoicing and payment processing,
(c) essential communication, and
(d) compliance with applicable law.

5.4 Data Security: LFA implements appropriate technical and organisational measures to safeguard personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, or unauthorised access.

5.5 Data Retention: Personal data shall be retained only as long as necessary for the stated purposes or as required by law.

5.6 Data Subject Rights: Users may exercise their rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection by submitting a written request to LFA’s Data Protection Officer.

5.7 Third-Party Sharing: LFA does not sell personal data. Data may be shared with vetted third-party service providers under strict confidentiality obligations.

6. Website Availability and Disclaimers

6.1 The Website and any services, tools, or information provided are offered on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

6.2 To the fullest extent permitted by law, LFA disclaims all representations and warranties (express or implied), including:
(a) fitness for a particular purpose,
(b) accuracy or completeness of information,
(c) uninterrupted or error-free availability.

6.3 Users are solely responsible for securing their own devices, data, and internet connection.

6.4 LFA shall not be liable for any interruption, suspension, or termination of the Website.

7. Fees and Payment

7.1 Programme fees include instruction, seminar materials, refreshments, and airport transfers. Hotel accommodation is excluded.

7.2 Delegates may pay directly or request invoicing to their employer or sponsor.

7.3 Fees must be paid in full before the programme start date unless otherwise agreed in writing.

8. Cancellations, Substitutions, and Refunds

8.1 Delegates unable to attend must notify LFA in writing before the course start date and may:

(a) Send a Substitute: Another individual from the same organisation may attend, subject to prior written notice.

(b) Transfer to Another Course:

  • Must be requested at least two (2) weeks before the original date,

  • Must be used within eight (8) months,

  • Only one transfer per booking permitted,

  • Failure to attend the transferred course results in forfeiture of fees.

(c) Request a Refund: Refunds are subject to a deduction of GBP 200 for administrative and banking costs.

8.2 Failure to attend any part of the course after commencement does not entitle the participant to any refund.

9. Force Majeure and Course Rescheduling

9.1 LFA shall not be liable for failure to perform its obligations caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, strikes, pandemics, or government restrictions.

9.2 In such cases, LFA may:
(a) reschedule the course,
(b) transfer the delegate to a later date without charge,
(c) provide an online alternative, or
(d) refund 50% of fees.

10. Trainer Dissatisfaction and Alternative Arrangements

10.1 If a participant is dissatisfied with the trainer’s expertise, they may submit a written request within the first two (2) weeks of the programme for:
(a) a replacement trainer (subject to availability), or
(b) online sessions with an alternative qualified trainer.

10.2 Only one such request per participant is permitted.

11. Supplementary Sessions

Where a participant reasonably believes learning objectives were not achieved, they may submit a written explanation. Upon review, LFA may provide additional online sessions, free of charge, to address the gap.

12. Hotel Accommodation

12.1 Hotel accommodation is not included in course fees.
12.2 Subject to availability, LFA may offer reduced corporate rates.
12.3 Requests must be submitted no later than three (3) weeks before the programme start date.

13. Course Guarantee

LFA guarantees that each course shall proceed on the scheduled date regardless of enrolment numbers.

14. Limitation of Liability

LFA’s total liability, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, shall in all cases be limited to the amount of fees paid. LFA shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental loss or damage.

15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

15.1 These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

15.2 The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms.
